Who's Hiring - Top employers week of 4-5-10






Who's Hiring is a weekly survey of companies showing the highest hiring activity for the week of 4/5/10.


The retail, telecommunications, business services, health care, hospitality, and banking verticals are the top industries currently hiring based on a survey of active job advertisements from the nations’ leading job boards.

Not only is this valuable for job seekers, but for business analysts, corporate strategists, marketers, salespeople, investment analysts, financial advisers, and others who are interested in companies experiencing growth. Despite the recession, these companies are all expanding.

Total Job Openings:
Retail topped this week's list as it continued build staffing into April. Advance Auto Parts, Sears, Lowe's and Kmart were all top 10 hiring firms, followed by Blockbuster, Macy’s and Radio Shack. Telecommunications firms are still looking with AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon still staffing actively. Business Service were next with IBM, Deloitte and Booz Allen continuing to advertise for new hires.

Health care continued strong hiring for the past half year, led by HCR ManorCare, Amedisys Home Health, UnitedHealth, Kaiser Permanente, Genesis Healthcare, DaVita, Quest Diagnostics, Kindred Health Care and Gentiva Health among the top hiring companies. Hospitality is still recruiting as PizzaHut, Marriott, and Hilton made this week's list.

Banking added employees with JPMorganChase, PNC, and Bank of America were included in the top hiring companies.

Based on surveys of US job advertisements in the top job board aggregators, the following companies added the most job openings:

Job Openings Added This Week:


The telecommunications, business services, health care, government, and financial service verticals are the top industries with new job postings based on a survey of the nations’ leading job advertisements added during the past seven days.


Telecommunications led new hiring advertisements this week as AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon were top job advertisers. Business services continued staffing this week with IBM, Booz Allen, Deloitte, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers making the top new job listings this week.

Health care came in next as HCR Manorcare, Amedisys Home Health, UnitedHealth, and HCA were included in the top job advertisers this week. Government was also strong in staffing with US Department of Veterans Affairs and US Army in the week's top hiring organizations

Financial services were led by Aflac, and included EMC Mortgage, Combined Insurance, and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
