Who's Hiring - Top employers week of 4-19-10








Who's Hiring is a weekly survey of companies showing the highest hiring activity for the week of 4/19/10.


The retail, telecommunications, business services, health care and hospitality verticals are the top industries currently hiring based on a survey of active job advertisements from the nations’ leading job boards.

Not only is this valuable for job seekers, but for business analysts, corporate strategists, marketers, salespeople, investment analysts, financial advisers, and others who are interested in companies experiencing growth. Despite the recession, these companies are all expanding.

Total Job Openings:
Retail headed the list as it continues staffing growth since before the holiday season. Advance Auto Parts, Sears, Lowe's, Kmart, and Blockbuster were all top 10 hiring firms, while Macy’s was also in the top hiring firms. Telecommunications firms are still looking with AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon still staffing actively.

Business Service firms were next with IBM, Deloitte, CSC and PriceWaterhouseCoopers continuing to advertise for new hires. Health care continued strong hiring for the past half year, led by HCR ManorCare, Gentiva, UnitedHealth, DaVita, Faulkner Hospital, Genesis Healthcare, Brookdale Senior Living, Kindred Health Care, Kaiser Permanente and Amedisys Home Health were 10 of the top 40 hiring companies.

Hospitality rounded out this week's top employers, as Pizza Hut, Marriott, Friendly's and Hilton continued heavy job advertisements.

Job Openings Added This Week:


The business services, telecommunications, retail, health care and food processing verticals are the top industries with new job postings based on a survey of the nations’ leading job advertisements added during the past seven days.


Business services led new hiring advertisements this week with IBM, and Deloitte made the top ten new job listings this week. Telecommunications was next as AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon are looking for employees.

Retail is recruiting as Sears, Toys"R"Us, Lowe's, Petco, Kmart, Macy's, Food Lion, Walmart and TJX were looking for employees. Hospitality continued staffing this week as Pizza Hut, Marriott, and Hilton were top job advertisers. Health care continues to search for people as HCR Manorcare, UnitedHealth, Gentiva, Brookdale Senior Living, DaVita, Cardinal Health, and Genisis Healthcare were included in the top job advertisers this week.

Food processing rounded out the top ten as Pepsi increase hiring and is one of this week's top new advertisers.
