Who's Hiring - Top employers week of 3-8-10

Who's Hiring is a weekly survey of companies showing the highest hiring activity for the week of 3/8/10.


Not only is this valuable for job seekers, but for business analysts, corporate strategists, marketers, salespeople, investment analysts, financial advisers, and others who are interested in companies experiencing growth. Despite the recession, these companies are all expanding.

Total Job Openings:
The business services, retail, banking, telecommunications, hospitality, and health care verticals are the top industries currently hiring based on a survey of active job advertisements from the nations’ leading job boards.


Business Service topped this week’s list with IBM, Deloitte, and SAIC continued strong hiring. Retail continued staffing into March, as Sears, Kmart, Blockbuster, Macy’s, and Radio Shack were top hiring firms.

Banking continued recruiting as JPMorganChase, PNC, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America were included in the top hiring companies. Telecommunications firms are still looking, with AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon still staffing actively.

Hospitality added employees with McDonald's, PizzaHut, Marriott, Friendly's, and Hilton making this week's list. Health care hiring continued strong hiring for the past half year, led by UnitedHealth, Amedisys Home Health, Gentiva Health, Fresenius Medical Care, HCR ManorCare, Genesis Healthcare, DaVita, Kindred Health care, and Quest Diagnostics among the health care top hiring companies. Defense companies also continued staffing as General Dynamics, Raytheon, and US Army made the list.

Based on surveys of US job advertisements in the top job board aggregators, the following companies added the most job openings:

Job Openings Added This Week:
The Business Services, Telecommunications, Retail, Banking, and Government verticals are the top industries with new job postings based on a survey of the nations’ leading job advertisements added during the past seven days.


Business Services led new hiring advertisements as IBM, SAIC, and Deloitte were in the top 10 this week, joined by Accenture, and Booz Allen. Telecommunications remained strong for the past quarter with T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon making the list.

Retail continued staffing this week as Sears, JoS. A. Bank, Kmart, Macy's, and RadioShack were top job advertisers. Banks including JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, PNC, and Fifth Third were included in the country's top hiring firms this week.

Government remained as a top hiring vertical with US Department of Veterans Affairs, US Army, government contractor ManTech, and US Navy among the top staffing organizations in the US.
