Who's Hiring - Top employers week of 3-22-10


Who's Hiring is a weekly survey of companies showing the highest hiring activity for the week of 3/22/10.


Not only is this valuable for job seekers, but for business analysts, corporate strategists, marketers, salespeople, investment analysts, financial advisers, and others who are interested in companies experiencing growth. Despite the recession, these companies are all expanding.

Total Job Openings:

The telecommunications, retail, business services, banking, health care and hospitality verticals are the top industries currently hiring based on a survey of active job advertisements from the nations’ leading job boards.


Telecommunications firms topped this week’s list with AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon still staffing actively. Retail continued staffing into March, as Sears, Kmart, Blockbuster, Lowe's, Macy’s, and Radio Shack were top hiring firms. Business Service is still looking, with IBM, Deloitte, and CSC continued strong hiring.

Banking continued recruiting as JPMorganChase, PNC, Bank of America and Fifth Third were included in the top hiring companies. Health care hiring continued strong hiring for the past half year, led by HCR ManorCare, Gentiva Health, Amedisys Home Health, UnitedHealth, Fresenius Medical Care, Genesis Healthcare, Kaiser Permanente, DaVita, Kindred Health Care, Quest Diagnostics and Hgi Health Care among the health care top hiring companies.

Hospitality added employees with PizzaHut, Marriott, Hilton, and Friendly's making this week's list.


Based on surveys of US job advertisements in the top job board aggregators, the following companies added the most job openings:

Job Openings Added This Week:


The Telecommunications, Retail, Banking, Business Services, Insurance, and Health care verticals are the top industries with new job postings based on a survey of the nations’ leading job advertisements added during the past seven days.


Telecommunication led new hiring advertisements with AT&T and T-Mobile taking the top two spots this week, with Verizon also making the top new job listings this week. Retail continued staffing this week as Sears, GNC, Kmart, Lowe's, Toys"R"Us, Macy's, T.J. Maxx, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Dollar General were top job advertisers.

Banking stayed strong this week, as JPMorgan Chase, PNC, and Wells Fargo added job listings over the past seven days. Business Services came in next with IBM, Deloitte, and Booz Allen were included in the top job advertisers this week.

Insurance increased it's hiring and broke the top ten with Aflac as one of the week;s top job advertisers. Health Care is back on the top ten this week with Genesis Health Care, followed by Gentiva Health Services, UnitedHealth, Merck, DaVita, HCR Manorcare, Bayada Nurses, Genzyme, Concentra, and Kindred Healthcare among the top job advertisers this week.
